Funeral arrangements

There will be a funeral mass on Friday 21 November at Our Lady of Mount Carmel & St George, 45 London Road, Enfield, EN2 6DS at 12:30pm followed by a burial at Lavender Hill Cemetery, Cedar Road, Enfield, EN2 0TH at 2pm – all are welcome.

There is a multi storey carpark next to the church, entrance from Cecil Road.

After the burial there will be a party at The Royal Chase Hotel, 162 The Ridgeway, Enfield, EN2 8AR in the Queens suite, (which will be open from 1.45pm for those not wishing to attend the burial).

We very much hope you can attend the party as it was very much Paul’s idea.

The family want you to know that Paul wanted his funeral to be a celebration of life and are keen for as many people as possible to stay for the party. Please bring a smile, some funny stories about Paul and a willingness to share them.

No flowers just donations of money to MacMillan Cancer Support (who have merged with Cancer back up) http://www.macmillan.org.uk/ and of course donations of blood.

I am saddened to hear of Paul's passing. I only had the opportunity of meeting him a couple of times, once in Australia and once at his office in Hertfordshire but we communicated often. He made a huge impression on me. He was an inspiration to many. I particularly loved his humour and generosity.
My thoughts are with his family.

Shirley,Karen and I are thinking of you all at this most challenging time. We are all better for meeting Paul and all of those close to him during our time in the UK and your time in New Zealand. You have a special place in our hearts and Paul will be forever an influence in our lives.

Good men must die, but death cannot kill their names - the Bible.

I worked closely with Paul on various projects. As a bank Manager who met scores of Accountants, Paul (and the other Paul of course!) were the very best by a country mile. He was truly inspirational as well as being a lovely bloke too. The World is a poorer place for his absence. In thought and paryer and for his family at this time.

Our deepest sympathy and condolences to the family and those that were close to Paul.

We had worked with Paul for a number of years and thoroughly enjoyed his personality and character. Paul was always positive and inspirational and it is this that we will remember.

May Paul's family, friends and colleagues have the strength to get through this difficult period, and indeed cherish and celebrate his wonderful life.

May his soul rest in peace..

I am very sad to hear of the passing of Paul, I had the pleasure of working with him for some years on various projects and always found him to be thoroughly entertaining and professional. A real shining light. My thoughts go to his family.

Daniella, Laura, Katie, Luke and Frankie

My sympathies go to you all on this sad occassion. Like many other messages of how inspiring Paul was, I want to put my thoughts as well.

I am also a chartered accountant, and he introduced me to Halliwick Penguins Swimming club on one of my professional contacts with him at OBK. He actually opened my eyes to the club, trained me to be an Instructor and we worked closely together in the club until I could not carry on that role any more.

Paul had the knack of getting to know each person individually and he was very interested in my disabilities and my cochlear implants, which did make me feel very important....

However I do remember working with Paul on the International event in 2000 and his energy never left him.

Rest in peace Paul.

I feel so humble to have known Paul who has been so inspirational in guiding my thoughts to building a better firm. Paul's double acts with Ron Baker & Ric Payne were awesome and ever more so for the fact that Paul never once used a script.
The accountancy profession has lost one of it's greatest future thinkers. Paul's family and his colleagues at OBK have lost something far more special but I really trust that the testaments that will flow over the next months and years will ensure that Paul's achievements will for ever be remembered and revered.
Like "Wally, from Making Your Business Really Fly" you have left a lasting impression on me and I feel cheated that you have been cruelly taken from us at so young an age. Paul, thank you for your friendship and guidance but most importantly thank you you for just being you.

Dear Daniela, Laura, Katie, Luke & Frank.

It was very sad to hear the news of Paul's passing.

I had the privilege to know Paul for over 21 years, working for him in the earlier days of OBK. He was a lovely, kind man who however busy always had time to offer help and advice. He will be truly missed by all.
Our thoughts are with you.

Daniella, Laura, Luke, Frankie, Katie, and extended Roberto family. Our hearts are extremely saddened to hear of Paul's passing, as we have been following along on his blog for several months. Personally, I have very fond memories of Paul coming into my beautiful cousin, Daniella's life. Some of my best childhood memories are of Daniella's brothers, Mum - Aunt Rene and Dad - Uncle Dante, always treating us with great love and welcoming arms when we would visit from America. Paul carried on this generous nature, always making us feel special when we would visit. I can remember many occasions including my last personal visit as an "adult" some ten plus years ago, when we not only went to a hit "suspense" play he set up for us to see with Daniella as a "double-date" but also going above and beyond what any cousin should have to, shuttling us Americans around London and taking us to his house to see all of the then, very young O'Byrne clan! He was a charming, open hearted man, who I always felt was a wonderful match for Daniella and her lovely ways. As his children, you all carry on a legacy of love, understanding, appreciation of life's gifts and affection for being good to others. While we cannot be there in person, we are thinking of you all deeply in sympathy with love and support. Cousin Jill, and the rest of the Schuck clan. God bless. xoxoxoxo

When we were clients of OBK, Paul always made us feel more than we really are and we always came away from meetings feeling that we could take on the world and we know that is how he viewed life. We couldn't agree more that quality over quantity in life is best and Paul certainly put the quality in to life!
Our thoughts are with his family as they struggle to adapt to the hole left by such a big man.

Daniela, Laura, Katie, Luke and Frank. Just wanted to let you know that I'm thinking of you all. Paul was an inspirational and special man to many people, not just a business partner to Paul but a true friend and mentor. I know his philosophies and beliefs will continue through OBK but he will be truely missed. Paul has a family to be very proud of - you are all amazing!

Through the difficult times ahead I hope you will find some of Paul's courage, strength and dignity to help you through and carry on his legacy - "Carpe Diem"!
With much love to you all,
Lucyxx

My thoughts and prayers are with you at this difficult time. From my 3 years at OBK working opposite Paul, I feel honoured to have known Paul - his love of life and passion to always seek a better way. Even so far away here in NZ, Paul's influence on my understanding of business and running an accounting practice remains constant and his legacy around the world will live on. Paul will always be with you wherever you travel and whatever you do.
My thoughts are with you at the funeral and life celebration tomorrow.

To Paul's family and friends, I am very sorry to hear of Paul's passing. I only met him once in Canberra, Australia but was lucky enough to sit next to him at lunch. I was struck by his energy and sense of innovation and enervation. Like many others he made an immediate and positive and warm impact on me. I will spend some time on this side of the planet celebrating his life. Michael Schwab, Bathurst NSW Australia.

Incredibly sorry to hear of Paul's death. I only 'knew' him via the Sarcoma UK emailing list. His enthusiasm, passion and zest for life showed clearly through his emails to the list.

My thoughts are with you

Daniela, Laura, Katie, Luke and Frankie,

Because we are delivering a Boot Camp in Las Vegas, sadly we aren't able to join you tomorrow to celebrate Paul's life. I so wish we could.

We have dedicated this program to Paul and already his legacy is evident with our delegates vowing to 'Carpe Diem' in Paul's honour.

We will raise a glass to Paul tonight and conduct our own little celebration of the man who continues to be an inspiration to us all.

With love,
Kerry and Ric Payne

We are so sorry to hear of Paul's passing and send you all our deepest sympathy.

Having spent many years at Halliwick Penguins we will always remember Paul's drive and enthusiam. We left the club 2 years ago due to moving away and sadly will not be able to make his funeral but will be thinking of you all as you celebrate the life of a truly remarkable man.

Very, very sorry to hear of Paul’s passing, It was a sad day when the news of his condition reached me, I have know Paul for nearly twenty years, although I only knew him through business contact, he was a Professional, warm and passionate person with a zest for life, and with his light hearted and playful sense of humour, matched with his endless energy and enthusiasm he managed to transform every accounts meeting into an event.
We will all miss you Paul, thank you for touching our lives.
Love to all your family -Carpe Diem.

I only met Paul once on a one to one; I attended his double act with Ron Baker several times.
As others have said he was amazing.
His enthusiasm was infectious........he said one thing to me that has really stuck. "You are measuring the wrong things" I took me a little while to work this out, but when I did, I realised the insight that he had for how the profession worked.
I was really looking forward to meeting him again (we did attend the same Boot Camp), sadly this will not now be possible.
My condolences to the family and hopefully the tributes on this blog will tell them (which I am sure they already knew) how well he was regarded in the part of the profession in which he believed so passionately.

To Paul's family...

I'm sure you know loads of people are thinking of you. Paul's passing is truely a loss for many.

Professionally a lot will carry on his work and benefit from his advice and wisdom. The bonus is that people will also greatly benefit from the way he just conducted himself as a person and how he managed to be himself while doing business.

He was just an ace all round bloke in my view. You can all be so proud of who Paul was. Those of us who were lucky enough to cross his path even if only for a brief moment will always remember him.

If h2o backs up from one kitchen sink to another one, it is because the lines are hooked up. The section of the department series for one gadget might be beyond yet another, but most likely there is also a blockage inside the part collection linking the two devices too. This blockage has to be cleansed. Microecw2347

If you have a pretty big fire place as well as the brick is within quite awful problem, you should consider artwork it, so that you can brighten it up. Attempt artwork it a color that matches the walls so that it can compliment the space rather than get noticed like a painful thumb. Pro232rgram
